Raiders travel to St Louis where Jerry Rice catches his 1,500th career TD catch. I get a nice, tack-sharp crowd photo and a few more gray hairs!!!!! Autofocus is a great tool but can sometimes hurt as it did in this case. It was a quick, short pass and I was too slow swinging the heavy 400mm 2.8 lens following the ball from the quarterback to the receiver. The autofocus activation point is set on the center of the viewfinder and as you can see, that is the crowd in this photo. The camera did it's job...I didn't. |

But I did get a few sharp photos I'm happy with. The Raiders lost again but at least the game was close this time. Raider third string quarterback Rick Mirer played great and even scored on a run, rolling into the endzone for a touchdown. |

The Chiefs had difficulty stopping Tyrone Wheatley who also scored on this play, stretching out to cross the goal line. |

But it all came down to a tied score with just seconds left. Chief's veteran kicker Morton Anderson did his job and was mobbed by his team as the dejected Raiders walked off the field. |
