We heard there was a pair of bald eagles sighted recently at Lake Chabot, part of the East Bay Regional Park District. Bald eagles in the bay area are rare so I was sent out to find the pair and try to come back with a photo. No luck. Just these funny looking goats... |

The East Bay Regional Park District came up with a novel solution to the ever present fire hazard...hire 500 goats to eat away the underbrush. It was so strange to hear 500 goats chewing away in unison with an occasional burp here and there. The trees seemed to be their favorite meal as they would do everything they could to reach the leaves. I thought this one at left was going to topple over...he was trying so hard! Think the reason I didn't see the eagles was because I was laughing too much at the goats. |
